601 For Period Equity is a grassroots organization started by Spelman student Asia Brown and high school junior Laila Brown dedicated to ending period poverty. Wander Nia is a lifestyle and beauty blog started by Spelman student Nia Curry. Both 601 and Wander Nia are collaborating on a mutual aid initiative that would provide off-campus Spelman students with free care packages and menstrual products.

True Blue 1881 is an alumnae led philanthropic organization that seeks to provide assistance and resources to the Spelman and extended AUC community. True Blue 1881 is currently fundraising to pay the deposits of displaced students who are now seeking off-campus housing.

Mimi's Food Pantry

About

Mimi's Food Pantry, hosted by the Lowery Institute, serves food insecure students throughout the Atlanta University Center (AUC). The pantry became operational in September 2016 and currently provides food to 100 students a week per semester. The pantry offers packages of nutritious, non-perishable items to students without a full meal plan.
